In their own line of work
Gunther started his career at Technische Universität Wien, where he completed a PhD in Mathematics and Computer Science in 2005. From there he joined WORLD DIRECT eBusiness solutions in Innsbruck as a software engineer in July 2008. Over 13 years he worked his way up the operating stack at one company. Team Lead Software Development from 2010, Head of Software Development from 2013 running the development department for three and a half years, then Senior Consultant from 2016. In 2020 he stepped into Head of Market ITO, owning the IT outsourcing, migration, operations, ITSM, hybrid cloud, and VDI portfolio. In 2021 he moved into the Sales Executive seat as IT architect, security specialist, and business consultant for managed-service customers, with compliance, processes, high availability, and high performance treated as baseline values.
In 2022 he left WORLD DIRECT to become Head of Sales at CONTROLLINO, the Austrian industrial-automation hardware company, where he ran the GTM for almost two years. Since November 2023 he has been independent. The current practice covers IT security, cloud computing, ITSM process optimization, IT strategy, and outsourcing advisory. In February 2024 he joined Atlanto as Partner and Senior Consultant, adding strategic IT consulting onto Atlanto’s growth and innovation work.
The four focus areas Wavect rents when we bring Gunther in are: regulatory compliance, ISO standards, the technology edge for Zahlungsverkehr (payments) systems, and EU AI Act readiness. These map onto the work the consulting practice is actively running today, not historical credentials.
