WAVECT vs SCLABLE

Wavect or Sclable. A transformation studio whose published method opens with strategy and discovery, or a senior product team that ships.

Sclable combines advisory, design and engineering for large organisations: its own site publishes 50-plus professionals, 120-plus B2B projects taken live, ÖBB on the reference list, and a five-phase method, Frame, Discover, Shape, Build, Evolve. We are a small senior team that gets to working software fast, with the product call included. Aligning a large organisation is their job. Shipping a product is ours.

Decision snapshot

VerdictThe practical split: if the organisation needs aligning first, Sclable publishes a method built for exactly that.2 If the product needs shipping, talk to us.

Wavect is best when

  • You already know roughly what to build and need senior judgement plus execution, not organisational alignment.
  • You want code in production in weeks, with discovery measured in days and a fixed price from €3,500.
  • The decision-maker is in the room: founder, product lead, or a department head with budget authority.

The alternative is best when

  • You are a large organisation where stakeholders disagree, and alignment is genuinely the first deliverable.
  • You want workflow diagnostics and service design across departments before committing to a build. Sclable publishes a Workflow Intelligence offer, and service design sits among its listed services.12
  • Your transformation spans strategy, design and engineering and needs one studio accountable for all three. Their services page lists digital strategy, experience design, service design, custom software development and AI development side by side.2

Questions to ask before you choose

  1. After the Frame, Discover and Shape phases, who owns getting working software into production, and by when?2
  2. Sclable publishes five phases, with Frame and Discover grouped under digital strategy and innovation and Shape, Build and Evolve under digital products, services and platforms.2 Ask them how much of the fee goes to strategy, discovery and design before code ships, then ask us the same question about our own discovery step. The answer says nothing about how either firm spends its time; it is simply a number a budget owner needs in order to compare two quotes.
  3. Does the five-phase Frame, Discover, Shape, Build, Evolve method fit a focused product build, or is it dimensioned for multi-department transformation?2

Commercial risk to watch

  • The visible price is not the whole cost; the risk sits in engagement shape, typical client, and the moment scope changes.
  • Ask what the vendor is paid to increase: hours, seats, retained advice, platform usage, or shipped outcomes.

Evidence notes

  • The legal entity is Sclable Business Solutions GmbH, FN 387162g, registered in Vienna since October 2012; check the current register entry, pricing, references and terms yourself before signing.7
  • This comparison rests on the Sclable pages and two directory records listed below, read on 4 August 2026, plus our own operating model. It carries no hidden quality claim about Sclable.

Project fit: not limited to small builds

Project size and provider headcount are separate decisions. Wavect’s delivery unit is a named senior core, but that does not limit the work to MVPs or short startup projects. Larger projects are split into phases with separate budgets and acceptance criteria. We also build internal systems and process automations inside a client’s existing repositories, tooling and workflows. A vetted bench supports continuity and scope-specific capacity. A larger provider may still be the better choice when the main requirement is several parallel teams, an incumbent framework agreement or certifications Wavect does not currently hold.

ENGAGEMENT SHAPE

Five published phases: Frame and Discover under digital strategy and innovation, then Shape, Build and Evolve under digital products, services and platforms.2

Founders, scale-ups, enterprise pilots.

TYPICAL CLIENT

Large organisations. Their own reference list names ÖBB, Nedschroef, Berlin Hyp and Raiffeisenlandesbank OÖ; a cluster partner profile adds voestalpine and Wien Energie.35

Small senior-only team, both founders in the room.

Working software is the first deliverable, not the fifth phase.

TIME TO CODE

Frame and Discover are published as strategy phases that come before Shape, Build and Evolve.2

Weekly outcome fee or fixed-price Werkvertrag. No timesheets.

PRICING MODEL

Founders push back on scope directly, senior to senior.

SCOPE OWNERSHIP

Workflow Intelligence and service design are published as ways to build alignment across an organisation.12

The real difference, in practice

Sclable presents itself as an AI and digital transformation studio.1 Its services page publishes over 50 specialists across design, research, software engineering, data science, agile and business architecture, together with a five-phase method: Frame and Discover under digital strategy and innovation, then Shape, Build and Evolve under digital products, services and platforms.2 Its homepage publishes 50+ professionals, 120+ B2B projects taken live, a founding year of 2012, and a Workflow Intelligence offer.1 For a large organisation where five departments disagree about what digital even means, a method that opens with strategy and discovery is the reason you hire a studio like this, not a detour on the way to code.

The reference list matches the method. Their own work page names ÖBB, Nedschroef, Berlin Hyp, ÖAMTC, Raiffeisenlandesbank OÖ, Zur Rose Suisse AG and Vienna Film Commission, and a dedicated case study covers a digital workflow for ÖBB Rail Cargo Group block train orders across Europe.34 A Silicon Alps cluster partner profile additionally names voestalpine, Wien Energie and Mosdorfer/Knill Gruppe.5 On the Sclable pages we reviewed on 4 August 2026 we did not find Österreichische Post or Palfinger on any reference list, so this page no longer names them.3 These are organisations where the strategy and design layer is the work, not an add-on to it.

We are built for a different buyer. A founder or product team does not need an alignment process; they need the product call made quickly by someone senior, and then code in production. Our discovery is a fixed-price engagement from €3,500 measured in days, both founders sit on every call, and the build runs on weekly outcomes you can cancel any week. Scope pushback replaces the strategy deck.

Neither their site nor their Clutch profile publishes a price: the profile lists minimum project size and hourly rate as confidential, so we have no view on what an engagement costs.6 If your organisation needs to be aligned before it can be served, their published method is built for that.2 If you need a product shipped and judged senior to senior, see how we build AI products .

FAQs

Half and half. Both firms build custom software with AI. Their published method opens with two strategy phases and their reference list is dominated by large organisations, which puts the centre of gravity on enterprise transformation.23 Ours is on shipping products for founders and product teams. The overlap is real, the typical buyer is not.
We do product strategy as part of the job: what to build, what to kill, build-or-buy. We do not run multi-stakeholder transformation programs or organisation-wide workflow diagnostics. Sclable publishes exactly that: a Workflow Intelligence offer and service design across departments.12
For a focused product build, almost certainly us, because nothing precedes the code except a days-long discovery. That is not a knock on their process: their first two published phases exist because large organisations need alignment before a build.2 Speed is only a virtue when the direction is already decided.
Nothing stops you. Their Clutch profile lists minimum project size and hourly rate as confidential, so we have no view on what it costs.6 The honest question is whether your problem needs the specialist bench and the five-phase method they publish, or two founders and a senior build team.2 Pay for the structure your problem actually has.
