Parkside earned one of Austria’s best reputations for product design and engineering: founded in Graz in 2007, more than 100 employees at the time of its acquisition, and Shutterstock, LinkedIn, Roche and Novartis among its named client references per the announcement release. Then it exited. UK-based Ascent Group closed the acquisition on 5 June 2024, Acuity Knowledge Partners announced in September 2025 that it had exchanged on the acquisition of Ascent, and that firm rebranded to Acuity Analytics in December 2025. The Austrian entity now appears in the register as Ascent Digital Services AT GmbH. None of that erases the talent. It changes what you are buying. We are still an independent, founder-owned Austrian team, and we intend to stay one.

  2. Ask who specifically would be assigned to your account, what the escalation route inside the group is, and get team continuity written into the contract.
  3. Ask us the same two questions and put both answers side by side.
  4. An ownership change is not a prediction about anyone’s future conduct or about the quality of the work; it is a reason to confirm the entity and the named team in writing with any vendor, including us.

Commercial risk to watch

Project fit: not limited to small builds

Project size and provider headcount are separate decisions. Wavect’s delivery unit is a named senior core, but that does not limit the work to MVPs or short startup projects. Larger projects are split into phases with separate budgets and acceptance criteria. We also build internal systems and process automations inside a client’s existing repositories, tooling and workflows. A vetted bench supports continuity and scope-specific capacity. A larger provider may still be the better choice when the main requirement is several parallel teams, an incumbent framework agreement or certifications Wavect does not currently hold.

The real difference, in practice

First the respect: Parkside was the real thing. The acquisition release states a Graz studio founded in 2007 with more than 100 employees and locations in Graz, Vienna, Linz, Basel and Porto, and it names Shutterstock, LinkedIn, Roche, Novartis, Bühler and Raiffeisen Bank as client references.1 If you worked with them then, you worked with one of the best teams in the country.

Now the ownership timeline a buyer needs in 2026, stated plainly. Ascent Group, headquartered in Bristol, England, closed the acquisition of PARKSIDE Informationstechnologie GmbH on 5 June 2024.2 The Austrian company register shows that entity renamed to Ascent Digital Service AT GmbH in October 2024 and to Ascent Digital Services AT GmbH in January 2025, with status active.3 Acuity Knowledge Partners announced on 18 September 2025 that it had exchanged on the acquisition of Ascent, which joined its Data and Technology Services division.4 Acuity Knowledge Partners then rebranded to Acuity Analytics on 2 December 2025.5 As of 4 August 2026 the former parkside-interactive.com serves a 301 redirect to www.ascent.io , which in turn redirects to www.acuityanalytics.com .6 We are not going to predict what any of that means for the team, because we do not know: the two things to ask the group are who your team would be by name, and which legal entity you would contract with. Ask us both questions too, and hold both answers to the same standard.

We are a different bet: a small, independent, founder-owned Austrian team. The two people who started the company are the two people on your calls, and the model has not changed hands. We will be straight about what we are not: a large dedicated design department. Our design work is senior product work, not a design studio’s bench.
