WAVECT vs PARKSIDE

Wavect or Parkside. A respected Graz studio that became part of a global analytics group, or an independent founder-led team.

Parkside earned one of Austria's best reputations for product design and engineering: founded in Graz in 2007, around 100 people, clients like Shutterstock, LinkedIn and Roche per public reporting. Then it exited. Acquired by UK-based Ascent in June 2024, integrated into Acuity Analytics in 2025, and the old website now redirects to the group's. None of that erases the talent. It changes what you are buying. We are still an independent, founder-owned Austrian team, and we intend to stay one.

How they actually differ

Six dimensions where the ex-Parkside offer and Wavect actually diverge.

Independent, founder-owned since 2018.

OWNERSHIP

Acquired 2024 by Ascent Group, integrated into Acuity Analytics 2025, per public reporting.

BRAND CONTINUITY

GROUP FOCUS

Acuity Analytics positions on financial-services insight, analytics, data and AI.

The founders and the senior engineer doing the work.

WHO YOU ACTUALLY TALK TO

The real difference, in practice

First the respect: pre-acquisition Parkside was the real thing. A Graz studio that grew to roughly 100 people on design-led product work, with Shutterstock, LinkedIn, Roche and Novartis on the published client list. If you worked with them then, you worked with one of the best teams in the country.

Now the facts a buyer needs in 2026. Parkside was acquired by UK-based Ascent Group in June 2024, per public reporting. Ascent was then integrated into Acuity Knowledge Partners, which rebranded to Acuity Analytics in late 2025, a global group focused on financial-services insight and analytics. The former parkside-interactive.com redirects there today. Whether the boutique’s team, culture, and product-design positioning survive inside that structure is a question only the group can answer. Ask it before you sign.

We are a different bet: a small, independent, founder-owned Austrian team. The two people who started the company are the two people on your calls, and the model has not changed hands. We will be straight about what we are not: a 30-person dedicated design department. Our design work is senior product work, not a design studio’s bench.

If a global group with design heritage and analytics scale fits your need, the ex-Parkside capability inside Acuity may be exactly right. If you wanted what Parkside used to be, an independent senior team where the founders own the outcome, see how we build web products.

When each is the better call

// 01

When Wavect is the better call

  • You wanted a boutique on purpose: founders accountable, no group structure above the team.
  • Your project needs the product call and scope pushback, not just excellent execution to a brief.
  • You want weekly outcomes and the ability to cancel any week, not group contract terms.
  • Vendor stability through ownership changes matters to you. Our ownership has not changed since day one.
// 02

When the ex-Parkside offer is the better call

  • You are in financial services and the group's analytics and insight focus matches your roadmap.
  • You need design-led product heritage backed by an international group's capacity.
  • Group scale, multi-office delivery, and a large balance sheet behind the vendor matter to your stakeholders.
  • You already work with Acuity or Ascent and adding engineering through the same group simplifies your vendor list.

If the group offer fits, the ex-Parkside capability inside Acuity is a legitimate pick. If you wanted the independent boutique, that is now us, not them.

FAQs

The brand’s standalone presence does not: parkside-interactive.com redirects to Acuity Analytics as of mid-2026. The people and capability were acquired, first by Ascent Group in 2024, then folded into Acuity in 2025, per public reporting. Whether your project lands with the ex-Parkside team is a question for the group.
Because incentives and priorities move with ownership. A boutique’s best people answer to clients; a group unit answers to group strategy. Sometimes nothing changes for years. Sometimes the team you bought is reassigned in a quarter. You cannot know from the outside, so ask, and get continuity into the contract.
No, and we will not pretend to be. Parkside’s edge was a dedicated design organisation. Ours is senior engineering plus the product call in one team. If your project lives or dies on a large dedicated design bench, neither we nor most Austrian shops replace what Parkside was.
Buyers who want that design-led heritage with a global group behind it, especially in financial services, where Acuity concentrates. That combination is real and rare. It is simply a different purchase than an independent founder-led team.
