Questions to ask before you choose

  1. If you later leave MyGPT, what does the contract guarantee for exporting your data and any custom configuration, and on what timeline?
  2. With MyGPT licensed rather than owned, which parts of the resulting solution stay yours and which remain on the vendor’s platform once the licence ends?
  3. Leftshift One publishes four MyGPT tiers by user count: Basic up to 50 users, listed as “starts at € 1.690,00 per month”, then Business up to 200, Professional up to 500 and Enterprise from 501 users, with those three shown as request pricing and with “Tokens included” under a usage-limitation and fair-use note.4 Ask them what the cost ceiling looks like as your user count and token usage grow, and how the included allowance and any overage are fixed in the contract, then ask us the same question about a weekly outcome fee. Both answers are simply numbers a budget owner needs, and neither implies anything about how either vendor chooses to publish its prices.

Commercial risk to watch

  • The visible price is not the whole cost; the risk sits in what you buy, model choice, and the moment scope changes.
  • Ask what the vendor is paid to increase: hours, seats, retained advice, platform usage, or shipped outcomes.

Evidence notes

  • On the pages we reviewed on 4 August 2026, the certification behind “certified data centers” is not named and its scope is not stated, so this page reproduces the claim as published rather than characterising it.5 Ask which standard, which certificate holder and which sites it covers. That is not a suggestion that the claim is untrue; it is the detail that lets your own auditor check it, and we expect the same question about our own hosting.

Project fit: not limited to small builds

Project size and provider headcount are separate decisions. Wavect’s delivery unit is a named senior core, but that does not limit the work to MVPs or short startup projects. Larger projects are split into phases with separate budgets and acceptance criteria. We also build internal systems and process automations inside a client’s existing repositories, tooling and workflows. A vetted bench supports continuity and scope-specific capacity. A larger provider may still be the better choice when the main requirement is several parallel teams, an incumbent framework agreement or certifications Wavect does not currently hold.

The real difference, in practice

Leftshift One has been doing applied AI for years and describes itself on its company page as the Austrian AI pioneer since 2017.2 That page states over 200 AI projects successfully implemented, and the MyGPT homepage frames the same track record as more than 8 years of experience and 200 successful AI projects.21 The client logo strips on those two pages include SSI Schäfer, Albonair, Wagner Group, Faller Packaging, RCPE, VTU and the University of Graz.21 On the Leftshift One pages we reviewed on 4 August 2026 we did not find Novomatic on any client list, so this page no longer names it.2 The flagship is MyGPT: retrieval-augmented generation over your own documents, knowledge bases, channels with role-based access, single sign-on, API access on the Business and Professional tiers, and retrieval across SharePoint, Confluence and file servers.31 For a mid-sized company that wants a secure internal assistant without building anything, that is a clean, fast answer.

Their compliance claims are worth quoting rather than paraphrasing, in either direction. The MyGPT data protection page lists “EU Hosting” as “Operation exclusively in certified data centers within the European Union”, states “No sharing, no training with your company information.”, says your data is “never used for model retraining, but processed exclusively at runtime”, calls the result “100% GDPR-compliant”, and adds that MyGPT “already meets the current requirements of the EU AI Act and is prepared for upcoming regulations”.5 The homepage puts the hosting claim as “Hosted in EU data centers and 100% GDPR-compliant”.1 On the pages we reviewed, the certification standing behind the word “certified” is not named and its scope is not stated.5 Ask which standard, which certificate holder and which sites, the same way you should ask us about ours.

The structural question is platform versus product. Licensing MyGPT means the roadmap, the pricing and the boundaries of what is possible sit with the vendor, whose outside investors are named on its own company page.2 The price is partly public: four tiers by user count, with Basic listed as “starts at € 1.690,00 per month” and Business, Professional and Enterprise shown as request pricing, and with “Tokens included” under a usage-limitation and fair-use note.4 None of this is a criticism; it is what buying any platform means.

We sit on the other side of that line. We build the product around whatever model fits, OpenAI, Anthropic, or a self-hosted open-weight model, and you own the code, the data flows, and the roadmap. That is more expensive than licensing a platform that already fits, and cheaper than bending a platform into something it is not.

FAQs

Mostly, yes, and buy is often right. A platform that already does the job beats a custom build on speed and entry price. The trap is any platform that almost fits: every workaround is a recurring cost, and the gap never closes because the roadmap is not yours.
We are vendor-agnostic, so if a client already runs MyGPT we can build around it where its published interfaces allow, and the product page lists single sign-on and API access on the upper tiers.3 More often the question is platform or custom, decided once, honestly, based on how much of your need is standard.
Upfront, usually yes: our fixed-price discovery starts at €3,500 and a production build runs weeks of outcome fees. MyGPT Basic is published as “starts at € 1.690,00 per month” for up to 50 users, with the three upper tiers priced on request.4 Over years the arithmetic depends on how your user count and token usage grow, which is exactly the number to pin down in either contract.
Go by what is published. Leftshift One published a leadership announcement dated 17 October 2024: a co-founder left the operational leadership team as of 31 January 2025 while keeping their shareholding, three existing leaders were granted procuration, and the company stated 25 employees at that time.6 Its company page today lists a CEO plus two co-founders leading product and software.2 We would not over-read any of that. It is part of the vendor-stability picture a platform buyer should look at, alongside funding and roadmap, and it is a question you should put to us as well.
